THE POSITION

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking a hard-working, caring, and passionate physician who is dedicated to taking care of our residents.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be the facility's attending physician and provide general medical care and treatment to residents of the home. You will conduct medical rounds and bedside visits, including monthly medical examinations. This will allow you to review the resident's overall condition to aid in maintaining their highest level of physical and mental health. You will conduct medical diagnosis, create and modify residents' care plans, order treatment or prescription of medical therapeutics or corrective measures, and prepare referrals to specialists and other medical facilities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You may have on-call duties as directed.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:

  • Three years of experience and/or training in the practice of medicine.


Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Medicine Board, or the State Osteopathic Medicine Board.


Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
